It can be a constant throbbing ache, or a mild pain that comes and goes \u2013 sometimes made worse by eating or drinking. When the pain is severe, it is impossible to ignore and a trip to the dentist is the biggest priority. If the pain is bearable it is easy to put off for a while hoping that it won\u2019t get worse or will go away.<\/p>\n<p>The key thing to remember with toothache is that it is your body\u2019s way of letting you know that something isn\u2019t right and usually the longer you leave it the worse it will get. If it gets bad enough that it is a constant throbbing pain, then usually the only treatment possible is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bankhousedentistry.co.uk\/root-canal-therapy.html\">root canal treatment<\/a> or an extraction.<\/p>\n<p>It is always a good idea to contact the dentist and book an appointment as soon as you notice a toothache so we can discover the cause of the problem. If the cause is identified early enough, it is possible that on simple treatment will be needed \u2013 which also keeps the cost down!<\/p>\n<p>While you are waiting for your appointment, painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen may be necessary to help relieve the discomfort.
